Excel Basketball Academy
Excel Basketball Academy encourages youth development in our community (Calgary, Alberta) by providing opportunities to participate in basketball in a safe, fun and respectful environment, regardless of social or economic circumstances.
Excel Basketball Academy (EBA) began organically in 2014 by providing camp services to children and youth who wanted to improve their basketball skills and develop their character as individuals.
The Academy focuses on basketball fundamentals, which are key to player development and long term growth as a player, as well as developing players as leaders on their teams and in the community. We are proud to have established community partnerships to ensure that any child who wishes to participate has the ability to do so as our goal is to help build strong kids and communities through basketball and leadership.
Serving ages 6-17 years old

No Kid Left Behind
Our basketball programs allow ALL players to participate in our programs. We have programs for kids that are just learning to play basketball, programs for players who want to develop their skills and play in a recreational setting, and elite-level competitive teams players can try out for. Our mission is to have a place for every player, and we will place them in a group/team that is suited for their age, ability and experience.
Our No Kid Left Behind campaign is comprised of:
- Believing in one’s self - building confidence in our children
- Supporting teammates
- Caring and supporting each other and the community
- Welcoming all children to EBA programs
- Partnering with Schools, Churches, Community groups, and Businesses to support our youth
- We are using basketball as our platform to build strong kids in the community through Sportsmanship, Fellowship, and supporting each other.

Coaches
At Excel Basketball we take pride in our coaches ability to build confidence by positive by coaching with passion, integrity, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork and skill development. Our coaches are trained extensively in the Canada Basketball style of play, NCCP, Point Guard College, and first aid. We provide our coaches continuing education opportunities so they can grow their knowledge of the game and support our kids in the community to improve
Bob Willett Training
We are proud to have a strategic partnership with pro skills coach Bob Willett. Bob and his team have trained players across the globe and will bring that same energy and passion for skill development to Excel. If your child is wishing to improve their individual skill base, there is no better option.
